Web Application Developer

Job description

You’re a talented web application developer who loves learning new programming languages, frameworks, and back-end technologies. Developing cutting-edge, high-performance web applications is your passion! You’re constantly looking to broaden your knowledge, and you want to share what you learn with others.

We’re a hybrid agency that specializes in high-conversion design and marketing projects for fast-growing technology companies, while also building our own in-house digital products. We’re a mix of entrepreneurs, tech geeks, innovators, and creatives—most of us are a little bit of each—and we’re passionate about making this company the absolute best there is.

We value a true work/life balance where we do top-quality work while on the job, but have enough free time to pursue our outside interests. We’ll be Port Moody’s biggest tech company when we settle into our new office this winter, but that doesn’t mean we’ll start acting like a “big tech company.”

Sound good so far? Then let’s get into the details.

What You’ll Do:

Develop our next-generation SAAS offering. You will work with our CTO to design and develop the technology behind our next big product. We’re creating something totally new from the ground-up, and you’ll be involved from the beginning, experimenting and choosing our next-gen technology stack! An interest in the latest cloud-based machine learning and serverless application architectures is a must.

Design and develop efficient and scalable back-ends. Working with our CTO and your peers, you’ll develop websites and apps where the user experience is top priority. Well-designed, consistently high-performing back-ends that can scale for massive spikes are key to this experience.

Develop reliable API and authentication integration. You’ll develop systems integration on a variety of platforms. We work with a wide range of APIs, data providers, and authentication platforms, so building safe and reliable integration is key to delivering a premium user experience.

Continually improve DevOps. We use a wide range of tools to enable automated CI pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and automated testing, but we’re always on the lookout for new tools and improved processes. You’ll work with our CTO and our DevOps specialist to improve our dev team and the quality, consistency, and reliability of the websites and applications that we deliver
