About the role:

We are looking for an experienced full-time Intermediate Designer with an entrepreneurial mindset. You’re great at designing creative concepts, are talented at translating data and research-driven strategies into new concepts, and can analyze design briefs with the best of them. Our ideal candidate has worked at an agency and/or a fast-paced ever-evolving environment. You are curious about what is possible, resourceful when finding solutions, fair to those around you, and tenacious in your approach.

What your future day-to-day looks like:

  • Analyzing design briefs, providing input on strategic reports, and designing creative concepts

  • Translating data and research-driven strategies into new website concepts, brands, and digital design systems that inspire and delight

  • Building and improving our client's websites, brands and design systems

  • Collaborating with our team of talented creatives, copywriters, marketers, and developers

  • Brainstorming with your creative peers to help shape strategic direction, drive concepts, and uncover the heart of our client’s brands.

  • Play a role in running client workshops, reviews, and pitches.

The skills we think you’ll need to be successful in this role:

  • You have 3+ years of design experience (preferably from an agency setting)

  • You have a portfolio that demonstrates your mastery of design principles, and your unique creative approach to design challenges

  • You are adept at employing the nuances of colour, layout, grids, and typography in service of a brand. You are comfortable with a variety of design tools for both print and digital mediums, including Figma, and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).

  • You are a curious and entrepreneurial spirit who is keen to ask questions, hear others’ perspectives, and contribute ideas in a group setting

  • You are a skilled communicator who understands how to translate their design rationales into the written word

  • You are a self-driven designer who thrives in an environment of ambiguity and creative freedom.

  • You have a high attention to detail and a love for the finer elements of design

  • You have a love of startups and products, and the culture associated with them

  • You lead with passion & empathy and excel in a fast-paced, high-growth environment where critical thinking and strong problem-solving skills are a given.

  • Solid communication skills, in fact, you have mastered the art of over-communicating in this remote-first world.

  • Your time-management, organization, and project management skills are unparalleled.

  • A high sense of urgency and a commitment to achieving things “by when” they’re due.

  • You assume positive intent and respect people, places, and things.

Nice to haves:

  • You have video editing, animation, or illustration experience

  • You have a background or training in UX/UI design
